Presentation of the "Functional tissue regeneration and biotherapies" pole

Location

This pole, located at the Faculty of Medicine of Creteil, brings together 9 teams working on cardiovascular and lung diseases, diseases of the liver, and neurology.
In addition, the pole will shortly include a CNRS team currently located at the Faculty of Science, whose work on wound healing would effectively complete the organization.

Mission of the teams

These teams constitute an interactive network revolving around biotherapies and tissue regeneration and repair.
They have in common the use of approaches drawn from biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology and cellular mechanics to understand the phenomena that occur during tissue alteration, and to explore novel strategies for the functional regeneration of tissues.

These teams have access to all the core facilities on site (see corresponding section) as well as to the large animal facility of the Veterinary School of Maisons Alfort, for the development of specific projects.

The teams constituting the pole also collaborate with the French Blood Bank to prepare cells designed for use in humans, as well as with the Center for Surgical Research (Centre de Recherche Chirurgicale).

This pole should confer remarkable visibility on the Creteil site in the field of tissue regeneration and organ repair, ranging from the cellular level to the most complex surgical procedures.

Enumeration of the teams

Eight teams constitute this research pole:

Team No.1, directed by Anne-Catherine Bachoud-Lévi: "Interventional neuropsychology"
Team No.3, directed by Alain Berdeaux: "Cardioprotection and pharmacology of coronary and cardiac insufficiencies"
Team No 4, directed by Jorge Boczkowski: "Pathophysiology of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other respiratory consequences of environmental particles inhalation"
Team No.8, directed by Serge Adnot: "Pathophysiology and experimental treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and acute pulmonary vascular injury"
Team No.10, directed by Romain Gherardi: "Cellular interactions in the neuromuscular system"
Team No.13, directed by Daniel Isabey: "Cellular and respiratory biomechanics"
Team No.17, directed by Sophie Lotersztajn: "Pathophysiology of liver diseases"
Team No.22, directed by Anne-Marie Rodriguez: "Adult stem cells and mechanisms of tissue regeneration"
